Guilford Remains Number One in Golf World/Nike Golf DIII Coaches' Poll

NEW YORK, NY—The first Golf World/Nike Golf Division III Coaches’ Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, II and the NAIA, will appear in the February 28, 2011 issue of Golf World. With a victory at the Pine Needles Intercollegiate, its fourth of the 2010-11 season, Guilford College remained the No. 1 ranked school in the Golf World/Nike Golf Division III men’s coaches’ poll.

The Quakers claimed 13 of the 15 first-place votes to maintain their top spot for the fourth consecutive poll, dating back to last November.

Huntingdon remained the No. 2 ranked program, garnering the last two first-place votes. Saint John’s (Minn.) rose from No. 5 to No. 3, bumping No. 4 Methodist and No. 5 LaVerne each down one spot.

Redlands, previously at No. 15, made the biggest move of any school in the poll, jumping six spots to No. 9, the lone new school in the top 10. Wisconsin-Eau Claire, ranked No. 25, was the only new school to make the top 25.
