Coultas Division II Winner of Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation PDF Print E-mail

NORMAN, Okla. – John Coultas of Florida Southern has been named recipient of the Phil Mickelson Oustanding Freshman Award presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation in Division II men’s golf.

Coultas, who is a native of Valrico, Fla., had four Top 10 finishes, including winning medalist honors at the AFLAC/Cougar Invitational. At the AFLAC/Cougar Invitational, he shot a team season-low 203 (-10) for 54 holes. In addition to the first place finish, Coultas also finished as the runner-up at this year’s Sunshine State Championships. He finished tied for fourth at the NCAA Division II Championships.

Florida Southern teammate John VanDerLaan, Simon Fraser’s Chris Crisologo, Axel Ostensson of USC Aiken and Nova Southeastern’s Priyanshu Singh joined Coultas on the All-Freshmen Team.
