NORMAN, Okla. – Harvard (Division I), Tiffin (Division II), Webster (Division III), Embry-Riddle Arizona (NAIA), Garden City (NJCAA DI) and Meridian (NJCAA DII) have been named Academic National Champions for their respective divisions, announced the GCAA.

Embry-Riddle Arizona posted the highest overall team GPA for all divisions with a 3.75. A total of 172 teams submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher to earn All-Academic Team recognition.

“I could not be more thrilled for our Embry-Riddle Men’s Golf team in receiving this prestigious award,” said Embry-Riddle Arizona Head Coach Kim Haddow “To win this award is one of their team goals each year and they are well deserving as a result of their commitment academically. We are a “family” here at Embry-Riddle and all of our faculty and staff play a role in supporting our athletes academically, athletically and personally.”

Embry-Riddle Arizona is the first NAIA school to post the highest overall team GPA. It was the program’s second NAIA title. Harvard, Tiffin, Webster, Garden City and Meridian each were first-time winners.

Bradley, Brown, DePaul, Edgewood, Embry-Riddle Arizona, Emory, ETSU, Francis Marion, Garden City, Harvard, Kalamazoo, Penn State, Redlands, SCAD Atlanta, SCAD Savannah, Stanford, Stevens, Taylor, Tiffin, Trine, Utah Valley, Valparaiso, Washington & Lee and Webster received President’s Special Recognition status for having team GPAs of 3.5 or better. The 24 teams to earn this distinction is the most since the Academic Team Awards program began in 2009.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
