HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Cameron Wilson of Stanford claimed the Division I Arnold Palmer Individual National Champion Award presented by Callaway for earning medalist honors at the NCAA Championships.
Wilson carded a roller coaster opening round with three birdies and four bogeys to sit 1-over 70 after the first round. A bogey free second round that included five birdies and an eagle catapulted him into first place. Wilson lead outright or lead the entire second round before a birdie on No. 17 put him in sole first place. A bogey on 18 however forced him into a playoff with Georgia Tech’s Ollie Schniederjans. Both players had opportunities to win during the first two holes of the playoff but Wilson sealed the victory on the third playoff hole.
