Barry Atop GolfWorld/Nike Golf Division II Coaches' Poll

NEW YORK (February 26, 2014) — The first Golf World/Nike Golf Division II College Coaches’ Poll of the Spring 2014 season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, III, NAIA and NJCAA will appear in the March 3, 2014 issue of Golf World. Barry remained the No. 1 program in the first spring edition of the Golf World/Nike Golf men's Division II college coaches' poll.

The Buccaneers earned 13 of 21 available first-place votes after starting the spring semester with a runner-up finish at the Matlock Collegiate Classic. In the fall, Barry won two team titles to move into the top spot.

Jumping into the No. 2 spot in the poll is Lynn, which came out on top at the Matlock after winning its spring opener, the Titan Winter Invitational. The Fighting Knights sat at No. 10 entering the spring season but earned six first-place votes in the most recent poll.

USC-Aiken, CSU Monterey Bay and Central Missouri round out the top five of the poll. Central Missouri earned one first-place vote as did No. 10 Malone.

Three new programs joined the top 25: No. 19 Florida Tech, No. 24 Lincoln Memorial and No. 25 Nebraska-Kearney.
