Lynn Retains Top Ranking in Final Fall GolfWorld/Nike Golf Division II Coaches' Poll

(NEW YORK, NY) — The final Golf World/Nike Golf Division II College Coaches’ Poll of the fall season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, III and the NAIA, will appear in the November 28, 2011 issue of Golf World.  Lynn University hung on to the No. 1 ranking in the final fall Golf World/Nike Golf men’s Division II coaches’ poll.

The Fighting Knights played five tournaments in the fall, winning at the Sandestin Collegiate Championship and the Donald Ross Intercollegiate, while finishing in the top five in their other starts. The school was one of seven schools to earn at least one first-place vote, claiming four of the 19 available.

Barry remained in the No. 2 spot, with CSU-Stanislaus moving into third place. Rounding out the top five are Central Oklahoma and Chico State.

One new team joined the top 10: No. 10 Georgia Southwestern State. Three new teams appear in the top 25: No. 21 Hawaii-Hilo, No. 23 Grand Canyon and No. 24 Belmont Abbey.
