West Florida Retains Spot in Precept Coaches Poll 
Cal State-Stanislaus and South Carolina-Aiken tie for second in closest balloting of the season

West Florida retained the No. 1 ranking in the latest Precept Division II Coaches Poll in the closest voting of the season. Cal State-Stanislaus (one first-place vote) and South Carolina-Aiken - who received the most first-place votes - tied for second and were just one point behind West Florida (three-first place votes).

 

Cal State-Bakersfield earned two first-place votes to climb to fourth and is followed by Rollins College and Chico State, who tallied a first-place vote each. Cal-Davis fell a spot to seventh while Pfeiffer received two No. 1 votes to hold at eighth. Armstrong Atlantic jumped from No. 14 to ninth. Colorado-Colorado Springs received the remaining two first-place votes and is ranked No. 10.

 

Western Washington climbed from No. 16 to No. 11 while Francis Marrion fell from seventh to No. 12. North Alabama and Florida Southern also dropped from the top 10, falling to No. 13 and No. 14, respectively. Abilene Christian comes in at No. 15 and is follwed by Kennesaw State, Grand Canyon, Central Oklahoma, Georgia College & State University and Cameron. Central Arkansas held steady at No. 21 with Delta State and Drury sinking out of the top 20. Columbus State (No. 24), Cal-San Diego (T25) and Coker College (T25) re-entered the poll.

 

To vote in the Precept Coaches Poll, a coach must be a member of the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The next Precept Division II Coaches poll will reflect the finish of each team at the NCAA Championships.
