Georgia Still Perched Atop GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll

Bulldogs collect 15 first-votes
 

NORMAN, Okla. ?

By picking up 15 first-place votes, the Georgia Bulldogs outdistanced Oklahoma State to continue their season-long run atop the GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll. The Cowboys remained within striking distance, however, by grabbing the other two first-place nods.

 

Florida remained at third while Georgia Tech and UCLA switched at fourth and fifth, respectively. Brigham Young and Arizona State each moved up a slot to sixth and seventh, respectively, ahead of UNLV, which dropped two rungs to eighth. Texas A&M jumped three spots to number nine while Georgia State checked in at No. 10.

 

Texas Tech stepped up five rungs to 11th, just ahead of Clemson, East Tennessee State, Baylor and North Carolina. Wake Forest rose two positions to 16th to pass Duke, which dropped four slots to No. 17. Coastal Carolina, Southern California, Kentucky, Alabama, Lamar, San Diego State, Tulsa and Arizona rounded out this week?s poll

 

Minnesota, South Carolina and Tennessee fell from the rankings.

 

The GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll will be released May 11.
