Georgia Tops GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll
Bulldogs collect 18 first-place votes

NORMAN, Okla. ? Georgia finished atop its eighth-straight GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll by grabbing 18 of 19 first-place votes. The Bulldogs have been the No. 1 ranked team in men?s golf since the final poll of last season. Arizona State - who ranked ninth - received the other first-place vote.

Georgia Tech remained second while Florida jumped two spots to third. Oklahoma State, UCLA and Brigham Young all slid one notch. Georgia State moved up to seventh and is followed by Duke, Arizona State and UNLV.

Tennessee stayed at No. 11 for the third-consecutive poll. Northwestern, Minnesota and Wake Forest each moved up one slot. Tulsa - one of two newcomers to the poll along with 18th-ranked Baylor - debuted at No. 15. South Carolina and Texas Tech stood pat at Nos. 16 and 17, respectively. San Diego State and Texas A&M tied at No. 19.

Clemson dropped out to the top 20 to No. 21 while East Tennessee State slid to 22nd. Arizona and New Mexico shared No. 23. Southern California completed the top 25.

Kentucky, Texas and Washington dropped from the rankings.

The GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next GCAA/Bridgestone Division I Coaches poll will be March 16.
