USC-Aiken Still Leader in GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll

Lynn pulls into tie for third

NORMAN, Okla. ?

Missing out on being a unanimous leader for the first time this season by a single first-place vote, South Carolina-Aiken grabbed 10 of 11 first-place nods to stretch out its lead over Cal. State-Bakersfield in this week?s Division II GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll. Lynn pulled even with Florida Southern to tie at third while West Florida held on to the fifth spot.

Western Washington and Rollins - the owner of the last first-place vote - each moved up a rung to numbers six and seven, respectively. Cal. State-Stanislaus stepped down two slots to eighth while Central Oklahoma rose two of its own to ninth. Armstrong Atlantic State remained at No. 10 and was followed by Pfeiffer, Sonoma State, Northeastern State, Cameron and Barry.

St. Edward?s climbed a couple spots to 16th while Columbus State stumbled down eight rungs to No. 17. St. Mary?s (Texas) - this week?s biggest jumper - moved up six positions to 18th, ahead of Washburn, Hawaii-Hilo, Coker and North Alabama.

Grand Canyon dropped three slots to No. 23 while two previously unranked teams - Saint Martin?s and CSU - San Bernardino - rounded out this week?s poll at 24th and 25th, respectively.

Chico State and Florida Gulf Coast dropped from the rankings.

The GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division II institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll will be released May 4.
