Every Recipient of The Ben Hogan Award

Florida senior claims honor for outstanding collegiate and amateur play 

FORT WORTH, Texas ? Bank of America, in cooperation with Colonial Country Club, The Friends of Golf (FOG) and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), has announced Matt Every of Florida the recipient of The Ben Hogan Award at Colonial Country Club. The most prestigious award in men?s college golf, The Hogan is presented annually to the top men?s NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or junior college golfer taking into account all collegiate and amateur competitions during the last 12 months.

 

A two-time first-team PING All-America selection, Every earned his fourth career title this season at the Inverness Invitational. In addition to his victory to open the season, the senior from Daytona Beach, Fla., placed in the top five six times. This past summer Every was low amateur at the U.S. Open, finishing tied for 28th. He was a member of the winning U.S. teams at both the Palmer Cup and Walker in 2005 and was also a member of the 2004 Palmer Cup squad. Every was recently named first-team All-SEC for the third time.
