Field Set for Callaway Golf Collegiate Match Play Championship

Colonial to host of 16 of nation?s top 20 teams


NORMAN, Okla. ? The field has been announced for the Callaway Golf Collegiate Match Play Championship at Colonial Country Club announced the Golf Coaches Association of America. Invitation to the Callaway Golf Collegiate Match Play Championship is be based on 2006 Division I national championships finish. The event - which will be held Oct. 29-31 - features 16 teams that finished in the top 20 at nationals.


National champion Oklahoma State headlines the field and is joined by Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Lamar, Minnesota, NC State, Texas A&M, UCLA, UNLV and Washington.

Jack Nicklaus Award winner Pablo Martin and ARNOLD PALMER AWARD presented by CALLAWAY GOLF and Phil Mickelson Award recipient Jonathan Moore, both of Oklahoma State, as well as PING First-Team All-America selections Billy Horschel (Florida), Dustin Johnson (Coastal Carolina), and Chris Kirk (Georgia) compete on teams scheduled to appear. Additionally, three PING Second-Team All-America selections, two third-team picks and 12 honorable mention honorees compete on teams in the field.
