Methodist Remains Atop GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll

Monarchs earn eight first-place votes

NORMAN, Okla. ? Methodist remained the top-ranked team in men?s Division III golf in the GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll. The Monarchs earned eight first-place votes.

Guilford, Emory - who claimed the remaining four first-place votes - and Huntingdon each moved up one spot to fill third through fourth. Rhodes climbed 10 places to fifth and was followed by Wisconsin Eau-Claire and Oglethorpe. Nebraska Wesleyan and Skidmore tied for ninth.

LaGrange dropped one rung to No. 11 while Texas Lutheran stayed at 12th. Ohio Wesleyan, Gustavus Adolphus and Otterbein filled Nos. 13-15. LaVerne entered the ranking at No. 16. Transylvania fell three places to No. 17 and was followed by Allegheny, Mary Hardin-Baylor and Illinois Wesleyan.

Washington & Lee debuted in this year?s ranking at No. 21. Salem State, St. John Fisher, Greensboro and Redlands round out the top 25.

McMurry and Rochester dropped out of the ranking.

The GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division III institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll will be released Nov. 16.
