Oklahoma State Retains Top Spot in Golf World/NIKE Golf Division I Coaches' Poll

NEW YORK, NY?The final Golf World/NIKE Golf Division I Coaches? Poll of the fall season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, NIKE Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions II, III and the NAIA, will appear in the November 30 issue of Golf World.  Oklahoma State maintained its number one spot in the poll throughout the fall, earning 20 of the 24 first-place votes in the final edition.

After a runner-up finish at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational, the Cowboys won twice at the Ping/Golfweek Invitational and the Isleworth Collegiate. In addition, they also received two runner-up awards in their other two starts. The Cowboys had the best winning percentage (.964) of any other school and went 31-2 against other top-25 opponents.

Rounding out the top-five are Stanford (No. 2), Arizona State (No. 3), Florida (No. 4) and Florida State (No. 5).
 
New to the top-10 after the final competitions this season are TCU (No. 7), Texas A&M (No. 8) and South Carolina (No. 9).

Augusta State (No. 11), Duke (No. 22), Virginia (No. 23) and San Diego State (No. 25) moved into the top-25.
