December 2018 GCAA National Convention
Planet Hollywood Las Vegas

The 2018 National Convention will be held Dec. 2-5 at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. Further information will be posted below later this year.

August 2, 2018

Welcome

The GCAA National Advisory Board (NAB) is pleased to announce that the 2018 GCAA National Convention will be held December 2-5 at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Events

The convention fee for the 2018 event will be $460 ($485 after November 1, $535 on-site). We will be announcing our lineup of speakers in August and September, including those that will be a part of our joint GCAA/WGCA session Monday, December 3.

The site of this year’s convention will again be the Planet Hollywood in the heart of the Las Vegas strip. The GCAA convention room rate is $99 + tax (Sunday-Thursday) and $155 + tax (Friday and Saturday). A $22 daily resort fee will also be added to the rates above, which includes admission to the Fitness Center daily and in-room internet access. The room block cutoff date will be November 11, 2018. Once our room block is filled, there is no guarantee of additional room availability at our convention price.

In preparation for the Rules of Golf Modernization which will become effective Jan. 1, 2019, the GCAA & WGCA will conduct a USGA Collegiate Rules of Golf Workshop as a part of the general convention this year. To accommodate the workshop, for 2018 only, the general convention fee has been slightly increased. You do not need to sign up separately for these sessions, as they are a part of your general convention registration. Convention attendees will receive supporting educational materials as well as Rules of Golf books for their student-athletes. Because of the addition this year the convention will now begin on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2:00 p.m.

Again this year, the AJGA will be holding an event in conjunction with the GCAA Convention. The AJGA evian International and Seniors Showcases will be held at Angel Park Golf Club in Las Vegas and feature 156 unsigned 2019 graduates and international players. The dates of the event will be November 30 – December 2, 2018. For more information please visit https://www.ajga.org/microsite/index.asp?tn=2018120

Complimentary transportation will be provided by the event for our coches to and from Planet Hollywood to the AJGA event.

As noted this year the convention will begin on Sunday, December 2 with the special USGA session in the afternoon. Monday will be a full day of activities, including a joint session with the WGCA with guest speakers to be announced. The evening will conclude with the Hall of Fame reception beginning at 6:00 p.m. and dinner at 7:00 p.m. Join us as we honor our members for their outstanding contributions to our profession for 2018. The class will be announced in the early fall.

Our Corporate Partners Exhibit Night will be held Tuesday, December 4 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Great food will be provided as always.
