Florida Continues Streak as Nation?s Top Ranked Golf Team

Gators earn 31 first-place votes

NORMAN, Okla. ?

For the third-consecutive ranking, the Florida Gators captured 31 first-place votes to retain its status as the top-ranked team in men?s college golf in the GCAA/Precept Coaches Poll. Florida has been the nation?s top-ranked team the entire regular season after opening the fall tied for second in the preseason poll.

 

Defending national champion Clemson remained second and earned one first-place vote. UCLA moved up one spot to third and is followed by Georgia, who dropped to fourth. Arizona State and Georgia tech flip flopped spots five and six while Oklahoma State and Texas stayed at seventh and eighth respectively. Arizona climbed two spots to enter the top 10 at ninth and TCU fell one rung to No. 10

 

UNLV fell one spot out of the top to No. 11. Brigham Young and South Carolina moved up to No. 12 and No. 13, respectively. Minnesota dropped two places to No. 14. Augusta State tallied the final first-place vote to rank 15th and is followed by California, New Mexico, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Southern California.

 

Wake Forest fell two places to No. 21 while Washington, Duke North Carolina and Kentucky round out the top 25.

 

No teams were dropped from the previous rankings.

The GCAA/Precept Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next Division I GCAA/Precept Coaches Poll will be released April 21.
