Team USA leads After First Round of Palmer Cup Presented by Monster
Americans win three of four morning matches

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. ? The United States won all but one of the morning session?s four-ball matches to take a 3-1 lead at the 2003 Palmer Cup presented by Monster. This annual competition is being played at the distinguished Cassique at The Kiawah Island Club courtesy of Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNST), the parent company of Monster, the leading global online careers property.

Bill Haas and Chris Nallen of the United States won the first match, 4 and 3. The U.S. team took a 1-up lead on hole five that it never relinquished. Nallen birdied Nos. 14 and 15 to clinch the match. Dustin Bray and Brandt Snedeker downed Gonzolo Fdez.-Casta?o and David Inglis, 2 and 1, to give Team USA a 2-0 lead. Bray tallied eight birdies in the round. Team Europe won its first point when David Price and David Skinns overcame a four-hole deficit to defeat Adam Rubinson and Peter Tomasulo. Price and Skinns never led until hole 17. The United States rallied to win the final match of the morning session when Jason Hartwick and Ryan Moore beat P?r Nilsson and Wilhelm Schauman, 1-up.

The U.S. team leads the Palmer Cup Series, 4-1-1, and has won all three matches in the United States.
