USC-Aiken Holds on to Top Spot in GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll

Cal. State-Bakersfield still second
 

NORMAN, Okla. ?

South Carolina-Aiken picked up seven first-place votes to stay atop the latest GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll. Despite not picking up a first-place nod, Cal. State-Bakersfield held on to the second slot, just ahead of Florida Southern, which surged up five spots to number three. Rollins - the owner of the final first-place tally - and West Florida each slid back a rung to close out the top five.

 

Armstrong Atlantic State and Western Washington tied for sixth while Cal. State-Stanislaus, Columbus State and Central Oklahoma finish up this week?s top 10. Lynn dropped a single slot to No. 11 while Cameron and Pfeiffer tied for 12th after tying for 13th in the last ranking. St. Edward?s rose two spots to No. 14 and Chico State checked in at 15th.

 

Hawaii-Hilo dropped a rung to No. 16 while Washburn and Grand Canyon each moved a single slot to Nos. 17 and 18, respectively. North Alabama jumped five spots to 19th, just ahead of Barry which came in at No. 20

 

Coker fell a spot into a tie with Saint Martin?s for 21st while Delta State skidded six rungs to 23rd position. Previously unranked Northeastern State and Sonoma State completed the top 25.

Central Arkansas and Eckerd fell from the rankings.

 

The GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division II institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next Division II GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll will be released in the spring.
