Bulldogs Still Streaking at Top of GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll

Georgia continue streak as nation?s top-ranked team

NORMAN, Okla. ? Georgia finished atop its ninth-straight GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll by grabbing 19 of 21 first-place votes. Oklahoma State leap-frogged Florida, moving up two spots to a distant second. Florida, Georgia Tech and UCLA - the owner of the last two first-place nods - followed the top two.

 

Brigham Young held on to the number six spot, just ahead of UNLV - which made a three-rung jump. Arizona State, Georgia State and Duke closed out the top 10.

Baylor and Tennessee tied for the 11th position. Following the pair was this week?s biggest leaper - East Tennessee State - which flew up eight spots. Clemson made a seven-position jump of its own to come in at No. 14. Tulsa, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Northwestern, Wake Forest and Pepperdine rounded out the top 20.

South Carolina fell five rungs to 21st while Southern California rose three spots to No. 22. Alabama and Washington checked in at Nos. 23 and 24, respectively. Minnesota and New Mexico closed out the poll by tying for 25th.

 

Arizona and San Diego State dropped from the rankings.

 

The GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll will be released March 30.
