NEW YORK, NY - The first Golf World/NIKE Golf Division I Coaches' Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, NIKE Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions II, III and the NAIA, will appear in the February 28 issue of Golf World. After winning the Amer Ari Invitational in Hawaii to start its spring season, Oklahoma State retained the top spot in the Golf World/NIKE Golf Division I men’s coaches poll.

The Cowboys earned 14 of the 19 first-place votes available. In five events overall, OSU has won three times and finished no worse than tied for fifth, with three of its five starters—Peter Uihlein, Kevin Tway and Morgan Hoffmann—recently being named to the Ben Hogan Award watch list.

UCLA, thanks to a victory at the Battle at the Beach last week, jumped from No. 3 to No. 2 in the most recent poll, the Bruins earning three first-place votes. Despite winning its first two events of the spring, Florida dropped to No. 3, but also claimed two first-place votes.

Rounding out the top five were Georgia Tech and Alabama.

No new teams moved into the top 25, but two schools found their way into the top 10: No. 6 Texas, the runner-up squad at the Amer Ari Invitational, and No. 8 Texas A&M, which finished second at the John Burns Intercollegiate to start the spring.
