NEW YORK, NY—The first Golf World/Nike Golf NAIA Coaches’ Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, II and III, will appear in the February 28, 2011 issue of Golf World.

Oklahoma City’s hold on the top spot in the Golf World/Nike Golf NAIA men’s coaches’ poll remained solid as the Stars mustered 11 of the 12 first-place votes. Coach Kyle Blaser’s squad won its spring opener, the Lions Classic, to make it three victories in four starts this season, the team finishing third in its lone remaining appearance.

The rest of the top five all held steady, Oklahoma Christian, USC-Beaufort, Grand View and Malone landing at Nos. 2-5. No new school moved into the top 10, with the No. 8 Shorter and No. 9 University of the Cumberlands providing the only movement as they swamped spots from the last voting.

One new team joined the top 25: Marian U. (Indianapolis) tied with two other teams for the T-25 spot in the poll.
