NEW YORK, NY—The latest Golf World/NIKE Golf Division III Coaches’ Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, NIKE Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, II and the NAIA, will appear in the February 28, 2011 issue of Golf World. Guilford, with a victory at the Pine Needles Intercollegiate, its fourth team title in the 2010-11 season, claimed the top spot in the Golf World/NIKE Golf Division III coaches’ poll.
The Quakers claimed 11 of the 16 first-place votes and have one more tournament, the Emory Spring Invitational, before their conference championship.
In the No. 2 spot is Methodist, the defending NCAA champions, who jumped from the fourth spot in the last poll and earned four first-place votes. The last remaining first-place vote went to No. 3 Saint John’s of Minnesota.
No new schools joined the top 10 while two new teams moved into the top 25, No. 24 Whitworth and No. 25 Rochester.
