(NEW YORK, NY) — The latest Golf World/Nike Golf Division III College Coaches’ Poll has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, II and the NAIA, will appear in the October 3, 2011 issue of Golf World.  Defending NCAA champion Greensboro kept its No. 1 spot in the Golf World/Nike Golf Division III men’s coaches’ poll.

The Pride earned nine of 18 first-place votes, with voting completed before they played in their first fall event, the NCAA Fall Preview.

In the No. 2 spot is Methodist, jumping from preseason No. 3 and earning two first-place votes. Falling from second to third was St. John’s (Minn.), which still managed to pick up four first-place votes.

Rounding out the top five are Guilford and Illinois Wesleyan, holding their positions from the preseason poll.

Two new teams joined the top 10: UT-Tyler (No. 7) and Emory (No. 8). The former won the Rhodes College Men’s Fall Classic after a runner-up finish in its first fall start.

Wisconsin-Stout, at No. 21, is the only new team to join the top 25.
