(NEW YORK, NY) — The preseason Golf World/Nike Golf Division II College Coaches’ Poll has been released, combining the resources of Golf Worldmagazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, III, NAIA and NJCAA will appear in the September 3, 2012 issue of Golf World. Defending NCAA champion Nova Southeastern remains a favorite starting the 2012-13 college season, earning 15 of a possible 18 first-place votes to sit atop the Golf World/Nike Golf Division II preseason men's coaches' poll.
The Sharks won three times a year ago while never finishing worse than fifth in 11 starts.
Barry University, which advanced to match play at last year's national championship, claims the No. 2 spot in the poll, followed by NCAA runner-up Chico State in third. Rounding out the top five are CSU-Stanislaus and USC-Aiken.
Three other schools received first-place votes: No. 6 Lynn, No. 8 Georgia College and No. 13 Abilene Christian.
