(NEW YORK, NY) — The latest Golf World/Nike Golf Division III College Coaches’ Poll has been released, combining the resources of Golf Worldmagazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, II, NAIA and NJCAA will appear in the October 8, 2012 issue of Golf World. Oglethorpe opened the 2012-13 season with a victory at the BCS Southern Shootout to solidify its hold of the No. 1 ranking in the Golf World/Nike Golf men's Division III coaches' poll.

The Petrels garnered 15 of the 16 available first-place votes as they attempt to defend their 2012 NCAA title.

Methodist remains in the No. 2 spot with the Monarchs opening their season this week at the Gordin Classic. Redlands holds the No. 3 spot while Transylvania is fourth, receiving the lone remaining first-place vote. Guilford rounds out the top five.

One new school appears in the top 10: No. 7 Wittenberg, up from 12th in the preseason poll. New to the top 25 are No. 12 Southwestern, No. 21 Trinity (Texas) and No. 23 Centre.
