(NEW YORK, NY) — The latest Golf World/Nike Golf Division I College Coaches’ Poll has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions II, III, NAIA and NJCAA will appear in the November 12, 2012 issue of Golf World. California finished off the fall semester undefeated, winning or sharing the team title in all five of their starts, to retain its No. 1 ranking in the Golf World/Nike Golf men's Division I coaches' poll.

The Golden Bears capped the first half of the 2012-13 season with a victory at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational in late October, helping them compile a 66-0-1 head-to-head record overall.

Defending NCAA champion Texas hung on to the No. 2 spot in the poll having finished no worse than fourth in any stroke play tournament this fall, including a win at the season-opening Carpet Capital Collegiate.

Rounding out the top five are Florida, Alabama and UCLA. Alabama received one first-place vote.

Four new teams joined the top 25: No. 12 SMU, No. 17 Oklahoma State, No. 18 Vanderbilt and Liberty coming in tied for 22nd. It was the first time that Liberty has been ranked in the Golf World poll since its resumption in 2001-02. It was also the highest that SMU and Vanderbilt have been ranked.
