(NEW YORK, NY) — The 2012 season's first Golf World/Nike Golf Division II College Coaches’ Poll has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, III, NAIA and NJCAA will appear in the March 5, 2012 issue of Golf World.  Lynn, the top-ranked school in the final fall edition of the Golf World/Nike Golf Division II men’s coaches’ poll, has some company in the top spot for the first spring poll.

The Fighting Knights, runners-up at the Matlock Collegiate Classic earlier this month, find themselves sharing the No. 1 spot with CSU-Stanislaus, the two schools each receiving 370 total points.

The two schools were among five that received first-place votes. The other three were the programs that claim the Nos. 3-5 spots in the poll: Barry, Central Oklahoma and Georgia Southwestern State.

No new schools joined the top 10. One squad joined the top 25: No. 23 St. Edward’s.
