(NEW YORK, NY) — The final Golf World/Nike Golf NAIA Coaches’ Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, II and III, the NAIA and the NJCAA, will appear in the May 23, 2011 issue of Golf World. Oklahoma City returned to the top spot in the final Golf World/Nike Golf NAIA men’s coaches’ poll after winning the Sooner Athletic Conference title, beating previous No. 1 Oklahoma Christian in the process.
Oklahoma City claimed six of the eight first-place votes as it prepares for the upcoming NAIA Championship, May 24-27.
Oklahoma Christian dropped to the No. 2 spot, but garnered the last two first-place votes. USC-Beaufort, U. of the Cumberlands and Grand View round out the top five.
One new team joined the top-10: No. 8 Texas Wesleyan. No new schools joined the top 25.
