GREENSBORO, N.C. – Chris Morris of Centre College claimed the Division III Arnold Palmer Award presented by Callaway for earning medalist honors at the NCAA Championships.

Morris was tied for second after the opening round of play after posting a 5-under 67. He opened his second round with three-straight birdies. He finished the day with eight birdies and posted a 7-under 65 to take the tournament lead. Defending NCAA champion Tain Lee briefly tied Morris during the third round but Morris was able to move to 13-under for the tournament and held a five-shot lead going into the final round. A double bogey on his second allowed Lee to pull with two strokes of the lead but Morris would birdie four of his next seven holes to pull away.
