MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – Ricardo Gouveia of Lynn has been named recipient of the Phil Mickelson Award presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation as the most outstanding freshman in Division II men’s golf.

Gouveia won or shared medalist honors twice during his freshman campaign. He won won the Rollins College Invitational and tied for first at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Super Regional. Gouveia also claimed top-five finishes at the Golfweek DII Spring Invitational, Bobcat Invitational and Sunshine Conference Championship. He placed in the top 10 on three additional occasions.

Ricardo Celia of Nova Southeastern, Lynn’s Jose Joia, Hayden Letien of USC Aiken and Andreas Reideborn of Concord joined Gouveia on the All-Freshmen Team.
