(NEW YORK, NY)—The latest Golf World/Nike Golf Division III Coaches’ Poll has been released, combining the resources ofGolf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, II, NAIA and NJCAA will appear in the October 21, 2013 issue of Golf World. Impressive starts by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Wittenberg have them sharing the top spot in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf men's Division III coaches' poll.
The Stags are two-for-two so far in the 2013-14 season, winning the Firestone Grill Cal Poly Invitational and the Embry Riddle Arizona Invitational, and earned eight first-place votes in the poll. The Tigers have finished no worse than third in four starts with a victory at the Gordin Classic and claimed four first-place votes. It's the first time there has been a tie at the top of the D-III poll since November 2007.
Three other schools earned one first-place vote: No. 3 Illinois Wesleyan, No. 5 St. John Fisher and No. 6 Methodist, the top-ranked school in the last poll.
Making the biggest jump in the poll was No. 4 Guilford, which moved from No. 14 previously.
Four news schools joined the top 25: No. 20 Wisconsin-Eau Claire, No. 22 College of Mount St. Joseph, No. 23 Dubuque and No24 Averett.
