NEW YORK, NY — The latest Golf World/Nike Golf NAIA College Coaches’ Poll of the Spring 2014 season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, III, III and NJCAA will appear in the March 31, 2014 issue of Golf World. Five victories in seven starts during the 2013-14 campaign have vaulted Wayland Baptist into the top spot in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf NAIA men's college coaches' poll.
The Pioneers had been ranked No. 2 in the previous spring poll only to swap spots with Oklahoma City after beating them in successive starts at the Shootout in San Antonio and the UST Mamiya Texas Intercollegiate. Wayland Baptist claimed seven of eight available first-place votes.
Rounding out the top five were Coastal Georgia, Oklahoma Baptist and Williams Woods, each tying for the No. 3 spot in the poll. William Woods earned the one other available first-place vote.
One new school moved into the top 10: No. 10 Southern Wesleyan.
Three programs crept into the top 25: No. 23 Texas College, No. 24 Warner and No. 25 AIB College of Business.
