NORMAN, Okla. – Texas A&M climbed 15 spots to become the new No. 1 in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. The Aggies won both tournaments they’ve competed in this season - the Badger Invitational and the OFCC Fighting Illini Invitational - and claimed 10 first-place votes.

The first regular season ranking saw massive movement with seven new teams to the top 25. Texas A&M was one of six teams to move into the top 10. Preseason No. 1 Oklahoma State slipped to second despite receiving nine first-place votes. Wake Forest also tallied a first-place ballot and moved up eight rungs to third. Alabama rockected up 15 slots to No. 4. Fifth-ranked Florida earned the remaining first-place vote. Georgia Tech also made a big move, jumping from No. 18 to sixth. Baylor and Oklahoma tied for seventh. Kentucky moved into the top 25 at No. 9 while Texas Tech moved up a dozen positions to No. 10.

In addition to Kentucky, Arkansas (#16), Duke (#17), Missouri (#18), BYU (#21), Marquette (#22), and Saint Mary’s (CA) (#25) debuted in the ranking.

Clemson, Georgia, Oregon, Pepperdine, Stanford, UNLV and Virginia fell from the top 25.

The next Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Polls will be released October 20.
