Cantlay Wins Division I Phil Mickelson Award presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation

STILLWATER, Okla. – Patrick Cantlay of UCLA has been named recipient of the Phil Mickelson Award presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation as the most outstanding freshman in Division I men’s golf.

Cantlay recorded four victories on the season - The NCAA West Regional, USC Collegiate, The Gifford Collegiate Championship and the Amer Ari Invitational. He posted three additional top three finishes. He only placed out of the top 10 three times in 12 events. Previously this season Cantlay was named a finalist for the Ben Hogan Award and was named both the Pac-10 Player and Freshman of the Year.

San Diego State’s Todd Baek, Sebastian Cappelen of Arkansas, NC State’s Albin Choi and Cory Whitsett of Alabama joined Cantlay on the All-Freshmen Team.
