NORMAN, Okla. ? Georgia finished atop its seventh-straight GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll by grabbing 19 of 20 first-place votes. The Bulldogs - who spent the entire fall ranked No. 1 - easily outdistanced second-ranked Georgia Tech - which earned the last top nod. Oklahoma State remained in the third slot, just ahead of UCLA - which moved up one rung. Brigham Young and Florida tied for fifth, followed by UNLV and Duke - each of which dropped a single position. Arizona State and Georgia State tied for the number nine spot. Tennessee stayed at 11th and was followed by three teams that were bumped up a slot - Northwestern, Kentucky and Minnesota. Wake Forest checked in at No. 15 after sliding three positions while South Carolina and this week?s highest-ranked newcomer - Texas Tech - came in at 16th and 17th, respectively. Texas A&M, Clemson and Washington - who tied for 19th - finished up the top 20. East Tennessee State rose four slots to No. 21 and was followed by four previously unranked teams - Southern California, San Diego State, Arizona and New Mexico. Texas sunk nine rungs to tie the Lobos for 25th and round out the poll Auburn, Baylor, Coastal Carolina and Louisville dropped from the rankings. The GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next GCAA/Bridgestone Division I Coaches poll will be March 2.
