Individual Award Winners Named in Division III Men?s Golf
Nicklaus, Palmer, Mickelson and PING All-America First Team recognized

BEAUMONT, Calif. ? Individual award winners for Division III men?s golf were named following the final round at the Division III national championships by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Awards presented included the Jack Nicklaus Award presented by Dillard?s, Inc. and Hartmarx Corporation, the Outback Steakhouse Arnold Palmer Award, the Phil Mickelson Award and the PING All-America first team.

The Nicklaus Award presented by Dillard?s, Inc. and Hartmarx Corporation - which is presented to the college player of the year - was presented to Trent Erb of Oglethorpe. A senior from Athens, Ga., Erb won three tournaments on the season. He also finished in the top five eight times and the top 10 nine times in the 12 tournaments in which he competed.

Ohio Wesleyan?s Chad Poling claimed medalist honors at the national championships with a six-under, 282 to earn the Outback Steakhouse Arnold Palmer. It was sixth-straight tournament in which Poling either tied for won or medalist honors.

The Phil Mickelson Award - give annually to Division III?s top freshman golfer - was presented to Andy Miller of Otterbein. Miller had one tournament victory to his credit, as well as seven other top five finishes.

The PING All-America first team consisted of Luke Benoit of Gustavus Adolphus, Greensboro?s Jonathan Dudley, Erb, Adam Horton of Methodist, Poling and Trevor Young of Redlands.
