South Carolina-Aiken Remains On Top in GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll

Top three remains unchanged

 

NORMAN, Okla. ? By garnering eight of 14 first-place votes, South Carolina-Aiken continued to sit atop the GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll. The top three remained unchanged with Cal. State-Bakersfield - which grabbed three first-place nods - and Florida Southern following the Pacers. Lynn and West Florida - who collected two first place votes - checked in at fourth and fifth, respectively.

 

Cal. State-Stanislaus rose two rungs to number six and was followed by Western Washington and Rollins - the holder of the last top nod. Columbus State and Armstrong Atlantic closed out this week?s top 10.

 

Central Oklahoma and Pfeiffer came in at Nos. 11 and 12, respectively, a slot ahead of this week?s biggest riser - Sonoma State - which flew up 12 positions. Cameron, Barry, Northeastern State, North Alabama, St. Edward?s, Washburn and Grand Canyon rounded out the top 20.

.Hawaii-Hilo sank five slots to check in at No. 21 while Coker dropped a rung to 22nd. Two previously-unranked teams - Florida Gulf Coast and St. Mary?s - came in at Nos. 23 and 24, respectively. Chico State fell 10 positions to close out the poll.

 

Delta State and Saint Martin?s dropped from the rankings.

 

The GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division II institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll will be released April 6.
