Caves Valley Host Venue for 2007 Palmer Cup presented by Monster
College golf?s Ryder Cup-style competition set for June 7-8
NORMAN, Okla. ? Caves Valley Golf Club has been selected as the host venue for the 2007 Palmer Cup presented by Monster announced the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The annual Ryder Cup-style competition will be played June 7-8, on the 7,226 yard, par 71 Tom Fazio design when the top collegiate players from the United States tee off against their counterparts from Europe. The Americans lead the series, 5-4-1.

Situated on 962 acres of pristine valley and forestland set amid Maryland?s estate and hunt country, Caves Valley opened in 1991. The 10th anniversary of the first Palmer Cup held in Bay Hill in 1997, the event has been staged at some of the most prestigious clubs in the world. Previous Palmer Cup host venues include St. Andrews Old and New Courses, The Honors Course, Royal Liverpool, Baltusrol, Doonbeg, Cassique, Ballybunion, Whistling Straits and Prestwick Golf Club. Past participants include Open Champion Ben Curtis, Jonathan Byrd, Luke Donald, Charles Howell III, Hank Kuehne, Bo Van Pelt, Michael Hoey, Matt Kuchar, Peter Lawrie, Hunter Mahan, D.J.
