Florida Southern Claims Top Spot

Columbus State Earns Six of Eight First-Place Votes

NEW YORK, NY?The final Golf World/Nike Golf Division II Coaches? Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

While Columbus State received six of the eight first-place votes, it was Florida Southern that jumped into the top spot in the final poll of the season. The Mocs advanced to the Division II NCAA Championship, which will be played next week at The Meadows in Allendale, Mich.

Previous number one West Florida was knocked off after failing to advance to the NCAA Championship.

Rounding out the top five are: Columbus State (No.2); North Alabama (No.3); Barry (No.4); West Florida (No.5).
