Methodist Replaces Saint John's (Minn.) as Top Team in Division III Golf World/NIKE Golf Coaches Poll

 

NEW YORK, NY?The third Golf World/NIKE Golf Division III Coaches? Poll of the fall season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, NIKE Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).  Methodist is the new number one team, earning eight of the 17 first-place votes.

  

The Monarchs have finished in the top-three in each of their three tournaments this season, including a first place finish at the Greensboro Invitational (Oct. 1-2). Rounding out the top-five are Oglethorpe (No. 2), Guilford (No. 3), Saint John?s (Minn.) (No. 4) and Huntingdon (No. 5).

Gustavus Adolphus (No. 8) and Skidmore (No. 10) have jumped into the top-ten after being ranked Nos. 18 and 12, respectively, in the previous coaches? poll. Gustavus won the MIAC Championship on Oct. 8; Skidmore has won all six of its tournaments this season.

Allegheny (No. 16), Mary Hardin-Baylor (No. 18), Washington & Jefferson (No. 24) and UT-Tyler (No. 25) have moved into the top-25.
