Georgia Remains on Top of Golf World/NIKE Golf Divisoin I Coaches' Poll

NEW YORK, NY?The second Golf World/Nike Golf Division I Coaches? Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, NIKE Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions II, III and the NAIA, will appear in the March 16th issue of Golf World.  Georgia remains the number one team in the poll, earning 21 of 23 first-place votes.

 

 

The Bulldogs won their spring opener, the Puerto Rico Classic, by 12 strokes. It was their third straight victory and their 38-under 826 was their third-lowest 54-hole score in school history.

Southern California moved up to No. 2, earning the other two first-place votes. The Trojans recorded their fifth top-five finish of the season at the USC Intercollegiate, after winning the UH-Hilo Invitational to start the spring.

Rounding out the top-five are Oklahoma State (No. 3), Clemson (No. 4) and Stanford (No. 5).

Florida (No. 7) cracked the top-10, after being ranked No. 11 in the previous coaches? poll. Texas A&M (No. 20), LSU (No. 21), UCF (No. 23) and Florida State (No. 25) moved into the top-25.
