NEW YORK, NY?The first Golf World/NIKE Golf Division III Coaches? Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, NIKE Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, II and the NAIA, will appear in the February 23rd issue of Golf World. Huntingdon, the top-ranked team to close out the fall, is once again the number one team. The Hawks earned 15 of 17 first-place votes and will play three events in the next five weeks.
Rounding out the top-five are Methodist (No. 2), Skidmore (No. 3), Oglethorpe (No. 4) and St. John?s (Minn.) No. 5). Rhodes (No. 10) cracked the top-10, after being ranked 11th in the previous coaches? poll. Trinity College (No. 25) moved into the top-25. The Hawks won twice this fall (Greensboro College Invitational, Gordin Collegiate) and finished second and third in their other two starts.
Rounding out the top-five are Methodist (No. 2), Skidmore (No. 3), Illinois Wesleyan (No. 4) and Oglethorpe (No. 5). Carthage (No. 20) and John Carroll (No. 24) moved into the top-25.
