Neira Garcia claims 2021 NAIA Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by StrackaLine

Norman, Okla. — Javier Neira Garcia of Keiser University has been named the recipient of the 2021 NAIA Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award.

Neira Garcia posted a scoring average of 73.40 in his freshman campaign. The Gijon, Spain native carded four top-fives, seven top-10s, and nine top-15 finishes in 10 regular season events.

Capping off his impressive Freshman season, Neira Garcia claimed a spot on the NAIA PING All-Region South Team, alongside four of his Seahawks teammates and was selected as a NAIA First Team All-American.

Dalton State’s Trevor Basset, Keiser’s Florion Benner, Dalton State’s Steve Kibare, and Point’s Cole Stevens joined Neira Garcia on the NAIA All-Freshman Team.
