Beard named Recipient of 2022 NJCAA Division II Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by StrackaLine

NORMAN, Okla. — David Beard of Mississippi Gulf Coast has been named the recipient of the 2022 NJCAA Division II Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by StrackaLine.

Beard, a Madison, Mississippi, native, was a First-Team All-MACCC (Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference) performer for the Bulldogs this season. He finished in the top 10 six times this season and finished the regular season ranked 16th in Golfstat’s individual rankings with an adjusted scoring average of 73.08. 

Joseph Berry of Meridian, Eli Cruzan of Glendale, Ethan Krose of South Mountain, and Max Reynolds of Tyler joined Beard on the All-Freshman team.
