McKenzie NAIA Winner of Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Billy McKenzie of William Woods has been named recipient of the Phil Mickelson Award presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation as the most outstanding freshman in NAIA men’s golf.

McKenzie tied for first at the Lindenwood-Belleville Invitational for his lone victory of the season. He also produced eight additional top-five finishes and only placed outside the top 10 once in 12 events. He was also named the American Midwest Conference Freshman of the Year.

Mateo Gomez of Oklahoma Baptist, Bellevue’s Nicolas Herrera, William Woods’ David Houlding and University of The Cumberlands Michael Pospisil joined McKenzie on the All-Freshmen Team.
