Whaley Named 2024 NAIA Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by StrackaLine Recipient
DALTON, Ga. — Jack Whaley of Dalton State has been named the recipient of the 2024 NAIA Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by StrackaLine.
Ranked inside the top two in Scoreboard powered by Clippd’s National Ranking during all of 2024, Whaley led the top-ranked and 2024 NAIA National Champion Roadrunners with seven top-10 finishes, including T4 at the NAIA National Championship, and wins at the Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational and Bojangles Invitational. The Doncaster, England, native earned Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Player and Freshman of the Year as well as PING First-Team All-America and PING All-South Region honors.
Gavin Dines of Baker, Antonio Juarbe of Coastal Georgia, Colin Price of Texas Wesleyan, and Milan Reed of Lindsey Wilson joined Whaley on the All-Freshman team.
