Shelton Winner of Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Robby Shelton of Alabama has been named the Division I recipient of the Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation.

A PING First-Team All-America selection, Shelton was named the SEC Player and Freshman of the Year. The first-team All-SEC selection was also named to the United States Palmer Cup team. Shelton has eight top-five finishes in 12 events, including three first-place showings at the Olympia Fields Fighting Illini Invitational, the Puerto Rico Classic and the Linger Longer. He has not finished lower than 17th this season.

Wyndham Clark of Oklahoma State, Southern California’s Rico Hoey, Jack Maguire of Florida State and Minnesota’s Jose Mendez joined Shelton on the All-Freshmen Team.
