Migdal Claims Division II Arnold Palmer Individual National Champion Award
NORMAN, Okla. – Sam Migdal of Central Missouri claimed the Division II Arnold Palmer Individual National Champion Award for earning medalist honors at the NCAA Championships.
Migdal was hot out of the gate with seven birdies during the opening round, good for 5-under 66 and the tournement lead. He carded three birdies early in his second round but a triple bogey at No. 12 kept him at even par for the day. He was tied for the lead with Ryan Gendron of St. Leo heading into the third and final round of stroke play. Migdal pulled away during the final round with three-straight birdies beginning at No. 4. He carded three more birdies, along with a bogey and double-bogey, to finish at 8-under for the tournament and a three-shot victory.
