Konica Minolta named presenting sponsor for The Ben Hogan Award

FORT WORTH, Texas (Feb. 4, 2016) – Through the auspices of the Friends of Golf (FOG), Colonial Country Club and The Ben Hogan Award Committee are pleased to announce an agreement with Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) to be the presenting sponsor for The Ben Hogan Award.

“We are elated to announce our partnership with Konica Minolta,” Dr. Bill Barnes, the co-chairman of The Ben Hogan Award Committee, said. “The Konica Minolta brand truly represents excellence, and the company’s long history with the golf industry makes for a perfect fit for our award.”

In accordance with the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), The Ben Hogan Award, the most prestigious award in college golf, is presented annually to the top men’s college golfer taking into account all collegiate and amateur competitions during the 12-month period dating from the previous award’s banquet.

Konica Minolta has an established association with the golf industry, including as a longtime sponsor for the PGA TOUR. The official marketing relationship with the PGA TOUR expanded in September 2015 when Konica Minolta launched a SwingVision Video Channel on PGATOUR.com.

The 2016 Ben Hogan Award banquet will take place at Colonial Country Club on Monday, May 23, prior to the start of the PGA TOUR’s Colonial National Invitation Tournament. To purchase tickets, call (817) 927-4280.

Since the Ben Hogan Award committee began inviting all three finalists to Colonial Country Club in 2005, notable finalists include current world No. 1 Jordan Spieth, as well as PGA TOUR winners Russell Henley and Michael Thompson.
