GCAA Supports University Day at Farmers Insurance Open

Blixt (Florida State), Tringale (Georgia Tech) win big at University Day at Farmers Insurance Open

Showing school spirit reaped big rewards at the Farmers Insurance Open on Saturday, January 28th! In a nod to its popular “University of Farmers” campaign, all PGA TOUR players and fans were encouraged to wear their University colors to the course.

With the low round on Saturday, Jonas Blixt (65) earned $20,000 towards the golf team at his alma mater, Florida State University.

Cameron Tringale was close behind, firing a 3rd round 66 and earning $10,000 towards his alma mater’s golf team, Georgia Tech. School pride and colors were visible throughout Torrey Pines, both inside and outside the ropes.

The overwhelming number of players who participated received a $500 donation to their school’s golf team and over 1,000 spirited fans received a University branded gift courtesy of Farmers.
